Ohio Job Growth

There were 5,183,200 jobs in Ohio in April 2013 according to the CES survey of employers. The CPS survey of households showed 5,341,562 employed persons for the month. Ohio added 7,600 jobs in April 2013 according to the CES survey while the broader CPS employment measure rose by 3,704 (Comparing CES and CPS employment numbers.). CES employment peaked in May 2000 for Ohio at 5,636,200. Since then 453,000 jobs have been lost in Ohio according to the employer survey. From a trough of 5,001,000 in February 2010, Ohio has gained 182,200 jobs according to CES employment figures.

CPS employment in Ohio reached a maximum of 5,645,928 in December 2006. 304,366 jobs have been lost in Ohio since then according to the household survey. From a December 2009 low of 5,248,932, Ohio has added 92,630 jobs according to the CPS survey.
