Florida Job Growth

There were 7,515,400 jobs in Florida in April 2013 according to the CES survey of employers. The CPS survey of households showed 8,730,211 employed persons for the month. Florida added 17,000 jobs in April 2013 according to the CES survey while the broader CPS employment measure rose by 25,614 (Comparing CES and CPS employment numbers.). CES employment peaked in March 2007 for Florida at 8,064,700. Since then 549,300 jobs have been lost in Florida according to the employer survey. From a trough of 7,142,100 in December 2009, Florida has gained 373,300 jobs according to CES employment figures.

CPS employment in Florida reached a maximum of 8,871,069 in February 2007. 140,858 jobs have been lost in Florida since then according to the household survey. From a November 2009 low of 8,041,834, Florida has added 688,377 jobs according to the CPS survey.
